| The Scots Family professional genealogy
team is led by Dr Brian Thomson, an experienced genealogist
with over 20 years of researching Scottish local history. As
well as a wide knowledge of Scotland, Dr Thomson has travelled
in the Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Alaska, Africa and
throughout Europe. His own ancestry is predominantly Scot,
especially from Shetland and Orkney islands, with a peppering
of Canadian, German, English and Irish genes. Member of
the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Scottish
Genealogy Society, and the Scottish Local History Forum.
Brian was commissioned for historical research by TV
Channel 4's "Revealing Secrets", he featured on Tartan TV helping to promote Scottish
genealogy to an overseas market, and is currently contracted
by BBC Genealogist Dr Nick Barrat to conduct Scottish
ancestral research of celebrities for BBC 1's "Who Do You
Think You Are ?"programme. |
