The Scots Family professional
research
team is led by Dr Brian Thomson, an experienced genealogist
with over 25 years of researching Scottish local history. As
well as a wide knowledge of Scotland, Dr Thomson has travelled
in the Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Alaska, Africa and
throughout Europe. His own ancestry is predominantly Scot,
particularly from Shetland and Orkney islands, with a peppering
of Canadian, Irish, German, and English genes. Member of
the Association of Professional Genealogists, and the Scottish
Genealogy Society,
Brian was commissioned for historical research by TV
Channel 4's "Revealing Secrets". He
has researched the Scottish
family history of David Tennant ("Dr Who") and other celebrities for BBC 's "Who Do You
Think You Are ?", and appeared on STV's
"The Hour" on
Scottish house history research . In 2011, the Scots Family
research team assisted Lion Television in tracing family
descendants from the Tay Bridge disaster, the Titanic, and
First World War deserters "Shot at Dawn". |
