David Tennant , the actor who plays Dr Who in the current BBC series, recently appeared in the genealogy series  Who Do You Think You Are ? on UK BBC 1 television .

Scots Family researched David's Scottish family history for the programme on behalf of the Sticks Research Agency, headed by genealogist Dr Nick Barratt.  Dr Brian Thomson of Scots Family then accompanied David on his travels in summer 2006 in search of his Scottish island ancestors.
